Doing Business with THA

THA owns and operates 10 multi-family housing developments consisting of close to 1700 housing units in the City of Trenton. THA regularly procures goods and services from vendors and contractors to assist in the management, maintenance, repair, and rehabilitation of its properties.

Prior to the award of a purchase order or contract all first-time vendors and contractors must submit the following:

  • IRS Form W-9
  • New Jersey Business Registration Certificate
  • Certificate of Insurance Liability

Other forms and documentation may be required depending on the nature of the procurement.

THA is regulated by certain federal and state procurement laws, including New Jersey Local Public Contracts Law. Purchases under a certain amount can be made utilizing a Request for Quotes. More substantial purchases require the approval of THA’s Board of Commissioners.

Purchases requiring approval of THA’s Board of Commissioners are typically obtained via solicitations in the form of either a Request for Proposals (RFP) or an Invitation for Bids (IFB). These solicitations require the completion of specific forms and certifications by the bidder/proposer in order for the bid or proposal to be considered responsive.

The Application Process

Complete your pre-application

During this phase, we confirm your eligibility with a series of background questions so we can place you on the list for one of our communities.

Complete your full application

When you are at the top of the housing list, we work with you to confirm all HUD and THA eligibility factors. All adult family members living in household must complete personal declaration and information release forms. Then you get to meet with THA staff to review, finalize and sign your application. Once you’re approved, we can schedule your move in!
